Our tenets. Our work in progress. Our journey.

We produce projects and compensate artists for showing grounded or aerial work. We welcome underrepresented artists, providing a safe space to create and perform. We create original group pieces that are inclusive of ability levels, blurring the lines between beginner and professional.

Youth, community, or professional, Satellite is for anyone who wants to challenge their existing movement practices. We do not hold auditions, we engage with neuro and body diverse populations, and we execute creative solutions to how and where we learn aerial/dance. Whether it's a studio, a backyard, or a film set, we adapt our art to the world we orbit.

Through education, performance, and community outreach programs, we work to identify unique channels for sharing aerial/dance in an affordable, accessible fashion.

We aim to cultivate deep, meaningful relationships with our artists and audiences. We use responsive teaching techniques, encourage open conversations, and continue to educate ourselves about the importance of intersectionality in the performing arts.

By Nature

By our core values, Satellite is adaptable and shared with care. By Nature to aerial and dance, we are continuously challenged by our resources and environment; now, in 2020, we face new challenges. How do we adapt our art in a thoughtful, accessible, evolved, and elevated way? The only way our community knows how - to perform and to capture. If you enjoyed our film, we hope you'll consider making a donation to help fun our 2021 season.
